Some of you may have heard of this iconic music venue in Soho which has housed legends including Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone, and Ella Fitzgerald.

KTA were appointed by the client of Ronnie Scott's to assess the existing structure and design a sequence and route to deliver the new heavy steel girders into the historic central London building to avoid compromising the structural integrity of the building.

We carried out a structural survey to measure up before returning to the office to check the capacity of the existing structural elements along the path of the proposed installation route. We reviewed the permanent works engineers’ structural drawings to advise on the positions to cut and splice the girders so the beams could be delivered and installed in manageable lengths to suit the constraints of the existing building access routes.

We communicated the sequence with the main contractor via a set of sequence sketches to enable the safe delivery, storage, and installation of the heavy steel sections.
